The TS-RF2-AERO is a PC/104 Peripheral Board that provides a long-range wireless interface for PC/104 embedded systems using an Aerocomm radio module. This daughter board is compatible with any embeddedTS ARM or X86 SBC with a PC/104 bus.
TS-RF2-AERO provides a wireless solution for applications where a wireless network is needed with a longer range then traditional WiFi or Zigbee.
Jumpers are used to select IRQ lines and one of the 4 I/O address regions available. Since the IRQ lines can be shared, up to 4 boards can run on a single assembly. This daughter card is built RoHS compliant by default and the form-factor is the standard PC/104 format.
This board uses a third-part radio module to provide wireless connectivity. For further information on the radio module, refer to the manufacturer's documentation.

embeddedTS no longer stocks AEROCOMM radio modules. Please, contact the radio manufacturer for pricing and availability information at http://www.aerocommunications.com.
The TS-RF2-AERO uses a TS-UART serial port in order to communicate with the radio module and to provide software compatibility. In doing so, any standard serial driver can be used as the interface between the embedded Operating System and the TS-RF2-AERO. For example, the TS-Linux distribution already includes Linux drivers for the TS-UART core by default. One can use any terminal emulator, as minicom, to open and configure the serial port in use by this board with the appropriate /dev entry, enabling communication to the radio device plugged on the socket. Notice, however, that communication speed with the radio module will be limited by the TS-UART serial port setup - any standard baud value can be set, starting at 1200baud, 115200baud is maximum.
embeddedTS provides a new TS-UART loader that can be used for both TS-RF2-AERO and TS-RF2-Zigbee.
